Diesel tanker overturns, crushes woman’s SUV in Ibadan

A fully loaded 33,000-litre diesel tanker on Friday overturned on the Akala Expressway in Ibadan, Oyo State, spilling fuel across the roadway and crushing a parked black Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV belonging to a female motorist.

A video of the incident, which circulated on X (formerly Twitter), showed the visibly distressed woman making a phone call believed to be to her husband, as she lamented the loss of her vehicle and demanded that the tanker driver replace it.

Despite the scale of the spill, no fire outbreak was recorded and no casualties were reported, according to eyewitnesses at the scene.
