Delta’s Path to Progress: Baro Commends Governor’s Ambitious 2026 Budget

The Delta State House of Assembly was abuzz with excitement as His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill, a landmark N1.664 trillion budget christened the “Budget of Accelerating the M.O.R.E Agenda.” This bold move marks a significant milestone in the administration’s quest for a more prosperous and secure Delta State.
Hon. Henry Baro, the Asiwaju of Delta State and Director, Corporate Services, Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), has praised the Governor’s visionary budget, describing it as “a strong affirmation of continuity, courage, and clear developmental focus.” Speaking through his media aide, Hon. Baro noted that the M.O.R.E Agenda has continued to shape the administration’s policies, and the 2026 budget further strengthens that foundation.
“The budget goes beyond figures and allocations; it reflects a strategic roadmap designed to fast-track ongoing projects, open new sectors for growth, and deepen peace and stability across the state,” he said. As a security expert, Hon. Baro emphasized that the budget demonstrates a deliberate effort to strengthen community safety and build structures that support long-term stability.
“I can attest to the Governor’s genuine commitment to inclusive development that touches every corner of Delta State,” he added. Hon. Baro commended the Governor for sustaining transparency and accountability in governance, saying the 2026 fiscal plan demonstrates empathy, foresight, and resilience.
He urged Deltans to continue supporting the administration, assuring them that the Governor’s leadership remains focused on improving lives and accelerating the delivery of democratic dividends. “When the leader has a vision, the people will follow,” he said, referencing the timeless adage.
