Nigerian-American music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has debunked social media claims that he was slapped during a recent appearance in Warri, Delta State.

A viral video had circulated online showing the award-winning singer surrounded by fans and security personnel, with a moment where it appeared someone struck him on the head.

The clip quickly sparked reactions, with an X.com user, @AsakyGRN, posting: “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head.”

Reacting via his official X handle on Monday, Davido clarified that the incident was a simple mix-up. He explained that it was his own security aide who mistakenly hit him amid the crowd’s frenzy.

“Mumu that was my security .. hit me by mistake .. saddist,” Davido wrote.
