‘Davido, please talk to your dad’: Adeleke University students allegedly cry out over poor living conditions
Some individuals who claim to be students of Adeleke University have raised concerns about the institution’s living and learning conditions despite the reportedly high tuition fees paid annually.
In a video making the rounds online, the complainant alleged that students pay no less than ₦2.5 million per year, yet still face several serious challenges on campus.
“Adeleke University with suffering and smiling. They pay nothing less than 2.5 million per year to be constantly treated like animals,” the message read, expressing frustration over the alleged situation at the private university.
The complainant further alleged that basic amenities such as water and electricity are not consistently available, making it difficult for students to attend classes and carry out their daily activities.
The message also claimed that the school’s food services and medical facilities are inadequate for students who depend on the institution for their welfare.
“Students can’t make it to class because something as simple as water, light, they can’t provide for them. Their food and medical system is bad,” the complainant stated, describing what they believe are ongoing challenges faced by students on campus.
The individual also alleged that many students are afraid to speak out publicly about the issues due to fears of disciplinary action.
According to the message, some students believe that openly raising complaints could result in expulsion.
“Every student is so scared to speak out because they expel them the moment they do,”
the message alleged, before appealing to Nigerian singer Davido to intervene by bringing the concerns to the attention of his father, Adedeji Adeleke, the founder of the university. “Davido please talk to your dad,” the message concluded.
