Dangote Refinery Begins Nationwide Petrol Distribution with CNG Trucks, Sells at ₦850/Litre Amid Rising Depot Prices

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced the nationwide distribution of petrol, deploying Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks to deliver fuel at ₦850 per litre, even as depot prices continue to rise across Nigeria.

According to industry data, depot rates have now surged to between ₦870 and ₦900 per litre in Lagos and Calabar, following the NNPC’s new pricing benchmark of ₦900.

Despite Dangote’s lower supply rate, retail pump prices in many filling stations have risen to between ₦900 and ₦955 per litre, as independent marketers adjust to the latest cost realities.

The use of CNG trucks is part of Dangote Refinery’s push to cut logistics costs, promote cleaner energy, and stabilize fuel supply amid Nigeria’s growing energy challenges.
