Bolt Driver Found Dead in Bayelsa

A Bolt driver was found dead inside his car early Friday morning at Samphino Junction, located in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Passersby who noticed the lifeless body inside the vehicle quickly informed the police, who arrived at the scene and secured the area for investigation.

The deceased, believed to be in his middle age, appeared to have been shot at close range.

Reports revealed that nothing was taken from the car, leading to fears that it may have been a planned attack rather than a robbery.

The identity of the driver had not been released as of press time.

This incident happened less than a week after another killing in the same area, where a 27-year-old university graduate, Daniel Ayama, lost his life in similar circumstances.

The two cases have raised concerns among residents, with many calling for better security in Yenagoa and its surroundings.

In response, the Bayelsa State Police Command has begun a full investigation into the matter.

Forensic experts visited the crime scene to collect evidence, and the police are working with the Bolt ride-hailing company to access trip records that could help track down the killers.

The drivers’ union and concerned residents have urged the police to move quickly and ensure that those behind the killing are found and punished.

The police, on their part, have assured the public that every effort is being made to solve the case.
