Bandits Attack Female University Students’ hostel, 30 Raped

Armed bandits have attacked female lodges housing students of Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, leaving over 30 female students raped and several male students injured with machetes.

The attack occurred in off-campus communities — Akunza, Gandu, and Burkann Kwato — where students live due to inadequate hostel space.

Witnesses say the assailants moved room to room, raping and attacking without resistance from security forces.

The university and police are yet to issue official statements.
