The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has firmly debunked the widespread rumours circulating on Facebook regarding the alleged passing of veteran actor and cultural icon, Chief Olalere Osunpaimo (MFR), popularly known as Baba Eda Onile Ola.
According to an official confirmation from his family, including his wife, Chief Lere Paimo is alive, healthy, and in good spirits. The circulating claims of his death are nothing but false reports propagated by individuals intent on spreading misinformation.
In a statement released by Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, the National Public Relations Officer of ANTP, the association condemned the rumour-mongering and emphasized the need for the public to be vigilant and verify information before sharing content online.
Chief Olalere Osunpaimo (MFR), who currently serves as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), remains a highly respected figure in the Nigerian theatre and film industry.
His contributions to Yoruba arts and culture span several decades, making the false reports particularly distressing to fans and colleagues.
The association urges the public to disregard the fake news and continue to respect the privacy and dignity of the veteran actor.
