Atiku’s US Lobbyists Release WhatsApp Message Alleging $3m Tinubu Offer

A Washington, United States based lobbying firm, Von-Batten-Montague-York has released what it described as part of WhatsApp communication with one of the leaders of the firm during which an unnamed individual associated with President Bola Tinubu allegedly offered $3 million bribe.

The firm released a screenshot of the message on its verified X page @batten_von but redacted the individual’s name and WhatsApp profile photo.

The message reads, “Boss. I cannot discuss the issue with anyone apart from you directly.”

“It is a serious deal worth at least $3 Million. It’s also not something we can discuss on phone either. If you agree to meet, I ‘ll be willing to be in London for the meeting.”

“If you ‘re in US, I can send you a business class ticket to London. I actually can’t enter the US now because of my application, I would have met you there.”

And by the way, at this point, I am leveraging personal relationship. Although this is professional, our history is not coincidental. All you need to do is listen to me and decide what to do.”

The firm stated the alleged $3 million offer has now been raised in an accepted court filing, adding that it believed additional transparency was appropriate at this point.

“Attached is a small portion of the communication Dr. Von Batten received. We redacted the individual’s name and WhatsApp profile photo,” the firm stated.

Von-Batten-Montague-York further stated that the firm will disclose the individual’s identity only to U.S. law enforcement.

“This screenshot represents only a small part of a much larger conversation, which we have preserved and provided to @TheJusticeDept for review. We are releasing this limited portion to show that the communication about a $3 million offer was, in fact, received.”

The Lobbyists were engaged by former vice president and the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to pursue an investigation targeted at having the records of President Tinubu during his time in Chicago, United States in the early 1990s released to the public.

“The Plaintiff in the #FOIA case, Aaron Greenspan, whom we consider a credit to true journalism for pursuing the truth about Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s (@officialABAT) @FBI and @DEAHQ records, has filed a new document with the @uscourts.

“In his new filing, Aaron specifically references Von Batten-Montague-York, our amicus filings, and the previously reported $3 million offer to Dr. Von Batten by an individual who is a dedicated member of the @OfficialAPCNg and is connected to Nigerian President #Tinubu,” the firm stated on X.
