Armed men raid Kwara community, kidnap pregnant woman, children, others

Armed attackers have raided Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman, 10 children, two nursing mothers, and several other residents.

As reported by Daily Post, eyewitnesses said the assailants, estimated to number between 20 and 30, moved through the area with a large herd of cattle, firing shots at random.

An elderly woman was reportedly hit by a stray bullet during the attack.

A community leader, who confirmed the incident to National Pilot, said 11 people were taken, including seven members of one family.

The victims have been named as Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat, Fatima Yusufu, Sarah Sunday, Lami Fidelis, and Haja Na Allah.

The gunmen escaped through bush routes linking Eruku to nearby settlements, leaving the community in panic.

The incident comes just two weeks after bandits attacked the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), kidnapping 38 members and reportedly killing some, although all abducted victims have since been rescued.
