Amotekun Patrol Van Destroyed in Fire Incident”

A patrol van of the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, went up in flames on Thursday morning in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident, which happened around 9:30 a.m. beneath the Mokola flyover, occurred while the van was on duty with operatives inside. Witnesses said the vehicle suddenly caught fire, forcing the officers to scamper to safety.

Passersby and motorists reportedly rushed to the scene in an attempt to put out the fire, but their efforts proved abortive as the blaze quickly engulfed the van. By the time officials of the Oyo State Fire Service arrived, the vehicle had already been completely burnt.

Although no lives were lost, the patrol van was destroyed beyond repair. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
