Akoko NE/ NW Bye-Election : we are yet to Declare support for Any candidate – Ikado Community
We would like to clarify and correct the recent misconception that Ikaado community has endorsed a particular candidate for the forthcoming bye election in Akoko North Federal Constituency. As a community, Ikaado have not at any fora, whether officially or unofficially, endorsed or pledged support to any candidate.
It is important to note that Ikaado is the beloved home of our esteemed sitting senator, Jide Ipinsagba (Sen). Thus, it should be understood that the political preferences of our senator do automatically translate into our community’s endorsement. Accordingly, we the Ikaado community, are an independent and diverse group with varying opinions and choices and we respect the senator’s decision and leadership.
Similarly, in any election, we firmly believe in supporting candidates based on their merit, integrity, and alignment with the needs and aspirations of our community. Therefore, our decision to endorse a candidate will be made after thorough consideration of their policies, track record, and commitment to represent the best interest of Ikaado as well as Ikare Akoko as a whole.
Against the foregoing backdrop, please kindly disregard engagement with one MUSIBAU EKUNNUSI who has been notoriously identified to be a fraudster, deadbeat and swindler, who is unknown and untraceable to ikaado community.
Thus, we encourage all candidates vying for the position of Member of the House of Representatives in Ikare Akoko to engage with our community and present their visions and plans for our development, as we value a fair and democratic electoral process, where candidates have the opportunity to earn our support through meaningful engagement and tangible proposals for our welfare.
Therefore, until a consensus is reached, we kindly request that individuals and entities refrain from attributing the endorsement of any candidate to Ikaado community. We assure you that our decision will be communicated to the public and stakeholders in due course.
As responsible citizens, we cherish the democratic principles that guide our electoral processes, and we remain steadfast in supporting the candidate whom our community believes will best serve our interests.
