After I Told Umahi I Can’t Date Him, He Got Angry and Sent Me a Message That I Insulted Him – Ohir
Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri, a Nigerian businesswoman, has accused Minister of Works David Umahi of reacting angrily after she rejected his romantic advances while pressing for payment owed on a business transaction.
Speaking to Sahara TV, Ohiri explained that the dispute stemmed from a supply of promotional materials for Umahi’s 2014 governorship campaign in Ebonyi State.
After one year and eight months of waiting for settlement of the initial amount, she began demanding her funds persistently.
During this period, Umahi repeatedly asked her to date him.
Frustrated by the ongoing delay, she firmly told him to focus on paying her money and stop pursuing a relationship, emphasizing that she could not date him.
According to her account, Umahi became upset during the conversation, ended the call abruptly, and followed up with a message accusing her of insulting him.
This incident formed part of broader allegations she has made, including claims of withheld payments escalating to hundreds of millions of naira with accumulated interest, alongside other grievances related to their past dealings.
Her words: “So after one year and eight months, I started asking him for my payment. While I was asking for my payment, David was asking me out. While I was asking for my payment, David was asking me to date him. One day I got so frustrated and I said, ‘Sir, can you concentrate and pay me my money? Stop telling me about dating you. I have told you I cannot date you.’ He became angry and hung up on me. The next thing, he sent me a message which is on my phone right now, everybody can confirm David Umahi’s number. He sent me an SMS that I insulted him.”
