AFCON 2027 to hold June–July 2027, says CAF President

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has confirmed that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 tournament will take place in 2027, dismissing speculations that the competition could be postponed until 2028.

Motsepe announced that the continental showpiece will run from June 19 to July 18, 2027, maintaining its scheduled calendar and ensuring alignment with international football timelines.
He further revealed that the tournament will be jointly hosted by three East African nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda marking a historic regional partnership aimed at strengthening football development and infrastructure across the region.

According to CAF leadership, the co-hosting arrangement is expected to enhance collaboration among the three countries while delivering modern facilities, improved logistics and a memorable experience for teams and supporters.
