Activist “Mama Pee” Attacked At Benin Airport By Thugs

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident occurred after Mama Pee confronted Abure at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja accusing him of frustrating Nigerians.

Afemale activist, Precious Oruche, also known as “Mama Pee,” has been attacked by thugs at Benin Airport, allegedly loyal to Labour Party’s factional National Chairman, Julius Abure.

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident occurred after Mama Pee confronted Abure at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja accusing him of frustrating Nigerians.

According to eyewitnesses, Mama Pee saw Abure at the airport trying to board a plane and told him, “Is this not Julius Abure? You’re the one frustrating Nigerians.”

Abure responded with, “How can?” Mama Pee continued, “In case nobody has told you, you’re the one frustrating Nigerians. Are you not Julius Abure? What are you now doing with Labour Party? Police are looking for you. You’ve destroyed the Labour Party, and you’re entering an aeroplane? May God punish all of you.”

The situation escalated upon arrival at Benin Airport, where Mama Pee was attacked by suspected thugs loyal to Abure.

In a viral video, some young men were seen trying to drag her out at the exit door, but airport security and immigration officers intervened.

Mama Pee claimed one of the thugs hit her in the eye and another threatened to shoot her.

“Look at them oh!!!, see them oh!!! they wants to beat me after Julius Abure and told him that you are the one destroying the lives of Nigerians and then he brings thugs. He brought thugs to harass me. Look at them, can you see them,” she said, while pointing at some group of young men supposedly the thugs that came to attack her at the airport exit door in one of the video clips.

“I saw Julius Abure of Labour Party inside the Max Air, and I told him that you are the one destroying the lives of Nigerians. You sold Labour Party, and then he called his thugs to wait for me at the airport in Benin,” Mama Pee narrated.

Meanwhile, the Abure’s faction of the Labour Party has condemned the attack, describing it as an “unwarranted attack” on their chairman.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, claimed in a statement issued on Saturday after the incident that Mama Pee accosted Abure at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja while he was boarding a Max Air flight to Benin and attacked him unprovoked.

“The assault, which attracted a large population of onlookers, continued unabated on disembarkment at the Benin Airport while she continued recording the scene,” Ifoh said.

According to the statement, “It took the intervention of the security agents on hand to whisk Abure to safety while the attacker was handed over to the police for questioning.

“In one of her films released, the lady who is a prominent member of the ‘Obidient’ and claimed that she has contacts with the highest police hierarchy, boasted that nothing will happen to her. She vowed that she will not stop attacking Abure or any member of the Labour Party executive because according to her, “you have killed Labour Party and you are the reason why Obi is no longer in the Labour Party.”

The party called for Mama Pee and her sponsors to be investigated, alleging she was working for anti-democratic elements trying to wrestle leadership from Abure.

The party urged the Inspector General of Police to thoroughly investigate the incident and cyberbullying allegations against Abure.

“We sincerely believe that the lady-agent was on an assignment to accomplish the desires of her paymasters” Ifoh stated. “We are calling on the members of the Labour Party to be calm, even in the face of this unwarranted provocation and wait for the outcome of the investigation on the unprovoked attack against the leadership of the party.”

The incident has sparked controversy, with both sides presenting different accounts of what transpired. The investigation will aim to uncover the truth behind the attack and determine the perpetrators’ motives.
