A Journey from Instinct to Inspiration – My Political Path Led by the Spirit – Ex-Senator

In 2020, I made a critical decision that shaped my political journey—I left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). At the time, I acted based on tangible reasons and what I believed were clear judgments. Like many politicians, I was moved by the tides of public sentiment, political calculations, and what seemed like strategic decisions made through human reasoning.
I must admit, however, that I did not seek the face of God before making that move.
There was no prayer. No fasting. No spiritual discernment. I relied on my instincts, emotions, and a desire to flow with the direction many were heading. In hindsight, it was a step taken without divine consultation—one made from the head, not the heart or spirit.
But time and experience have a way of refining us. They teach. They humble. They awaken the soul.
Over the past month, I embarked on a 31-day period of fasting and prayer—not just to seek political clarity, but to surrender every step of my journey to God’s divine will. This was not a mere ritual. It was a season of reflection, repentance, and rededication.
In that time of consecration, I laid my political path before God. I asked for direction, for wisdom, and for discernment beyond what my eyes could see or my mind could comprehend. I prayed not just for the right decision, but for the righteous one.
And I have received an answer.
In the coming weeks, after final consultations with my people—whom I deeply respect and whose voices matter in all I do—I will be making an official statement regarding my next steps. But this time, it won’t be based on what is popular or convenient. It won’t be dictated by political waves or sweet words. It will be based on what the Spirit of God has said to me.
I am no longer moved by sight. I am no longer guided by emotions or instincts alone. I am led by the Spirit of God and calm, prayerful negotiations rooted in purpose, peace, and principle.
As the Scriptures say, “The Lord directs the steps of the righteous.” (Psalm 37:23)
This is a new chapter—not just in my political career, but in my life as a man called to serve with integrity, clarity, and spiritual depth. I invite you all to journey with me, not just as observers, but as fellow citizens committed to truth, justice, and the will of God for our nation.
