Femi Adekanmbi Gets Key Security Role in APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 elections, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
Party National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as Vice Chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been appointed Director-General of the campaign. Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as Secretary of the council.
Hon. Femi Adekanmbi is also part of the campaign council, where he has been named as a member of the Security Directorate. His inclusion places him among the team saddled with the important responsibility of contributing to security coordination and ensuring a safe and orderly campaign process across the country.
Other key appointments include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni as Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern operations, while Senator Adams Oshiomhole will oversee mobilisation.
James Abiodun Faleke returns as Deputy Director-General in charge of Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, while Mohammed Idris Malagi, Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and other party communication experts will play leading roles in the Media and Strategic Communications Directorate.
The council also features prominent party leaders across the six geopolitical zones, reflecting the APC’s effort to build a broad-based campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
President Tinubu has charged members of the council to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC, urging them to showcase the administration’s achievements and communicate its vision for Nigeria’s future to voters across the country.
