Ondo Amotekun Mourns Two Officers Killed in Ambush, Vows to Hunt Down Perpetrators
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, has mourned the tragic loss of two of its gallant officers who were killed in an ambush by suspected criminal elements in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to the statement released to Newsmen, The officers reportedly came under attack on August 11, 2026, while emerging from their base along the Ago-Oyinbo farming area around Ala Daadaa. The assailants engaged the operatives in a fierce exchange of gunfire, resulting in the death of two officers and injuries to another.
Following the incident, the Amotekun Command immediately deployed reinforcements to the area and intensified patrols, intelligence gathering and security operations as part of efforts to track down the perpetrators and prevent further attacks.
The families of the fallen officers have also expressed appreciation to the Ondo State Government, the Amotekun Commander and the Corps’ management for the support and befitting burial arrangements accorded their loved ones, while appealing to the government to consider members of the deceased officers’ families in future recruitment exercises.

ONDO AMOTEKUN CORPS MOURNS OFFICERS LOST IN AMBUSH ATTACK
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps regrets to announce the tragic loss of two of its gallant officers who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty following an ambush attack by suspected criminal elements.
The incident occurred on the 11h of August 2026, while the officers were coming out of their base along Ago-oyinbo farming area, around Ala Daadaa, of Akure North Local Government of the State.
The officers came under sudden attack by assailants, who engaged them in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Despite the bravery and resistance put up by the officers, one sustained fatal injuries and two unfortunately lost their lives.
Following the incident, reinforcements were immediately deployed to the area by the command to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The Corps has also intensified security operations, patrols and intelligence gathering within the affected area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents of the safety of their lives and property.
Ondo state Governor, the corps Commander and the Management commiserate with the families, colleagues and loved ones of the fallen officers and salute their courage, sacrifice and commitment to the protection of the people of Ondo State.
The Corps urges members of the public to remain calm and vigilant and to provide security agencies with credible information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps remains resolute and will not be deterred by the unfortunate incident.
The Corps, in conjunction with other security agencies, will continue to protect lives and property and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
While commemorating the families of the fallen heroes. They appreciated the Ondo state government the Commander and the management of Amotekun for befitting burial given to their late family members while urging the government to remember them in the future recruitment into the core during and after the burials.
