A Ugandan man widely known for having one of the largest families in the country has announced that he is officially done having children after fathering an astonishing 102 children and becoming a grandfather to 568 grandchildren.
The elderly patriarch revealed that the harsh realities of the current economy and the rising cost of living have made it impossible to continue sustaining his enormous household.
Speaking about the origin of his extraordinary family journey, he explained that his inspiration came from the Bible.
“As a Christian, when I read about Solomon in the Bible getting married to 700 wives, I was very impressed and I told myself; I can also do it,” he said.
For years, the man embraced a lifestyle built around having many wives and children, believing he could create a massive family similar to the biblical story that inspired him. However, he now says reality has caught up with him.
According to him, feeding and caring for such a large family has become an overwhelming challenge amid worsening economic conditions.
He lamented that his income can no longer support the growing needs of his household and blamed the difficult economic climate for his current struggles.
“The president is not trying, the cost of living has made surviving very difficult for me,” he said.
The financial burden, he added, has already begun taking a toll on his family structure.
“My income can no longer support my family; two of my wives already left due to financial pressure.”
His story has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many people expressing shock at the size of his family while others pointed to the challenges of balancing cultural beliefs, personal choices, and economic realities.
While some social media users described his experience as a cautionary tale about family planning and financial responsibility, others viewed it as a reflection of how rising living costs continue to affect households across Africa.
Now, after fathering over a hundred children and seeing generations emerge from his lineage, the man says he has reached his limit.
At 102 children and 568 grandchildren, he insists the chapter of expanding his family is finally closed.
