Former Youth Leader confessed to conspiring with Nafi’u Bala to destabilize ADC

The former National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s anti-Tinubu coalition, Honorable Sultan Ahmed Bello, has made a public apology for his part in the internal conflict that is now crippling the party in a stunning turn of events.

Honorable Sultan Ahmed Bello, the former National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), admitted, in a tweet he made through his official X account, that he had conspired with his cousin, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, to destabilize the party when he was a factional leader.

He also admitted that his previous behavior had hurt the democratic process, adding, “What I did was wrong, and I fully acknowledge that. ”

The former youth leader further justified his choice to speak out by saying that it was a necessary step toward personal development and political accountability. He also disclosed that he now regrets his prior association with the faction headed by Nafi’u Bala Gombe and vowed to never again be involved in initiatives that undermine the party’s institutional advancement.

The Honorable Sultan Ahmed Bello went on to say that he had previously sought independent counsel from top ADC leaders, including prominent political figures such as former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, Senator David Mark, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who he claims accepted his apology and advised him to prioritize truth and party unity.

Additionally, he portrayed his reconciliation as a move supported by the larger opposition establishment and emphasized the high stakes of the ADC’s internal power struggle.

In addition to officially announcing his allegiance to the group led by Senator David Mark, Bello also refuted the legitimacy of his former ally, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, claiming that Gombe had already resigned from his position as Deputy National Chairman.

In addition, he indicated a significant change in the balance of power within the ADC’s anti-Tinubu coalition by portraying the Mark-led faction as the only legitimate and truthful way forward.

The prior youth leader hinted at a significant development in the days ahead, stating that he would play a crucial role in finding a long-term solution to the party’s continuing problems.
