2027: Tinubu/Datiwa Half a Million Walk Support Group Endorses Fasoranti for Senate

The Tinubu/Datiwa Half a Million Walk Support Group has thrown its weight behind the immediate past Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, as its preferred candidate for the Ondo Central Senatorial District in the January 2027 elections.
The organisation endorsed Dr. Fasoranti during its executive meeting held in Akure, the state capital, on Friday.
Speaking with journalists, the state coordinator of the group, Hon. Kehinde Akinrotoye (popularly known as Bonsue), said the decision to support the former SSG was based on extensive research and data gathering across the six local government areas in the district—Akure North, Akure South, Ifedore, Idanre, Ondo East, and Ondo West.
According to Akinrotoye, “As an organisation, we deployed our members across the six local governments to sample public opinion on all the aspirants seeking to represent Ondo Central in the Senate.
“Based on the results at our disposal, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti is the leading candidate among all the aspirants. Our findings were not limited to the All Progressives Congress (APC); the sampling cut across all political parties in the state.
“Considering his background, Dr. Fasoranti stands out as the most qualified among his peers. He has a strong reputation, and his contributions to the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa were outstanding.
“We are set to begin grassroots mobilisation for him across the six local governments.
“We will engage party leaders and members to see why they should support him to emerge as the flagbearer of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the January 2027 election.”
