Carter Bridge Set for Demolition as FG Approves ₦5.6bn Design Phase
Carter Bridge in Lagos will be demolished and rebuilt, and the Federal Government has approved a whopping ₦5.6 billion for the design and consultation phase alone.
This will add to the ₦2.9 trillion already injected into Lagos under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Lagos alone received ₦2.9trn in 2yrs. Higher than the SE region (₦400bn), SS region (₦2.4trn) NC region (₦1.3trn) and NE region (₦400bn), SW (₦604bn excluding lagos state.)

Many Nigerians are now asking for other parts of the country to receive equal attention in infrastructure development, rather than the heavy concentration in Lagos.
However, some people argue that the Carter Bridge has reportedly been at structural r!sk since around 2008, which is why the government says the project is necessary.
