JUST IN: Gov. Bala Mohammed, Gov. Fintiri and Other Party Members Absent as PDP Holds BoT Meeting in Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting in Abuja on Monday, February 2, 2026, amid the absence of some key party leaders, including Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and several other governors.

A video shared by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister, showed that the BoT meeting in Abuja proceeded with members aligned with the caretaker leadership, despite the absence of some governors due to official engagements outside the Federal Capital Territory.

The meeting was presided over by the National Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, who used the opportunity to restate the committee’s commitment to repositioning the party and strengthening its internal structures. He also appreciated BoT members for their continued support and reaffirmed plans to release a timetable for outstanding state congresses ahead of a future National Convention.

Meanwhile, Governor Bala Mohammed and other PDP governors were in Yola, Adamawa State, where they attended the public presentation of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s biography titled “Fintiri: The Man They Could Not Stop.” The book launch, held in Yola on the same day, attracted prominent political leaders and stakeholders from across party lines.

Political observers noted that the event underscored the national relevance of the Adamawa governor and attracted dignitaries from different political backgrounds.

The PDP leadership reiterated its commitment to party unity and internal reforms ahead of future political activities.
