House of Assembly Sets Up Committee to End Exploitation by House Agents
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, is currently engaging youths across the state as part of ongoing consultations on issues affecting young people. One of the major concerns raised during these interactions is the growing trend of extortion by house agents in Oyo State.
Following these engagements, the Oyo State House of Assembly has pledged to take decisive action. The Assembly, under the leadership of Speaker Ogundoyin, announced plans to set up a committee to draft a bill aimed at curbing the excesses of house agents and regulating their activities across the state.
The proposed bill is expected to be completed and presented to Governor Seyi Makinde for assent before the end of the first quarter of the year, marking a significant step toward protecting residents from exploitation and restoring sanity to the housing sector in Oyo State.
