APC to Sanction Ward Chairman Over Missing Rice, False Assault Claims
He Lied Against Fadairo After Hiding Christmas Rice
Fresh revelations have emerged in the escalating controversy within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure South as party leaders accuse the Chairman of Ward 8, Mr Oluwadare Olanrewaju, of hoarding 63 bags of rice and circulating what they describe as “false and malicious” claims that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s aide, Mr Oluwafemi Fadairo, brutalised him.
Party leaders who spoke to Roving Reporters dismissed Olanrewaju’s claims as “propaganda, blackmail, and an attempt to evade accountability,” insisting that disciplinary action is now underway against him.

Speaking on record, the APC Vice Chairman of Akure South, Mr Sunday Faleye, said the allegations against Fadairo do not add up.
Faleye, a former Ward 8 Chairman, revealed that the governor donated 100 bags of rice and ₦10,000 each for 100 party members across 11 wards during the Christmas season.
But according to him, Ward 8 remains the only ward where the items have not been properly shared.
“He collected the 100 bags. As we speak, he has only shared 37. He claimed 63 bags were looted. How? By who? No ward out of the 11 had this problem except his.”
Faleye further disclosed that Olanrewaju initially petitioned the DSS, but the matter was settled.
“The DSS asked him to let the issue go as a leader. He agreed. The following day, he started circulating another story that he was beaten.”
Faleye said the party has now begun internal review:
“We will set up a disciplinary committee because Ward 8 is the only ward where rice and cash were not disbursed. The party cannot overlook this.”

The APC vice chairman narrated what happened at the Police Zonal Command (Zone 17):
“When we got to Zone 17, he pointed at a stranger — someone not even known in the ward — claiming he was the one that beat him.”
He added: “The commissioner asked him clearly: ‘Which of these leaders touched you?’ He said none of us beat him. That was how we were all dismissed and told to go.”
Faleye said the party has now advised Fadairo to sue Olanrewaju for blackmail.
Councillor Corroborates Claims: “He Wants to Use the Rice for His Mother’s Burial”
The councillor representing Ward 8, Hon. Babafemi Ajayi, also told Roving Reporters that the chairman is “deliberately twisting the story” to tarnish Fadairo’s name.
“He wants to spoil Fadairo’s name to escape giving out the rice. His mother just died and he wants to cook the rice for the burial. Why would Christmas rice still be with him in mid-January?”
Ajayi insisted: “No one beat him. He’s only running from justice.”
Unit Coordinator: “He Was Never Beaten —The Pictures Are Propaganda”
Similarly, Mr Abiola Oladapo, Chairman of Unit Coordinators in Ward 8, accused the ward chairman of mischief and propaganda.
“He was never beaten. The pictures he shared are propaganda to destroy Fadairo’s image. We only confronted him to release the rice he is hiding.”
Oladapo said the governor gave each ward 25kg bags of rice and cash for a Christmas support package.
“Ward 8 is the only ward where members did not get what the governor gave them. Why should that happen?”
He added that when they appeared before police authorities:
“The man he brought to the police exonerated us. The police even apologized and asked us to leave.”
Oladapo said the chairman must apologise to party leaders instead of spreading damaging rumours:
“He should seek forgiveness from leadership instead of blackmailing Fadairo.”
Party Moves Toward Formal Sanctions
Multiple party leaders confirmed that disciplinary measures are imminent.
Faleye concluded: “Ward 8 cannot continue like this. Others have shared their allocations. Only one ward has issues, and it is because of this chairman. Action must be taken.”
