“Empty barrels make the loudest noise” – Alex Otti reacts to project criticism in Abia

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has responded to growing criticism surrounding his administration, urging supporters and residents of Abia State to ignore what he described as unnecessary distractions.

Speaking at an event, the governor dismissed the attacks as mere noise, stressing that those who complain the loudest often matter the least.

“I want us to just dismiss it as noise, you know, and it’s always the empty barrel that makes the loudest noise. They are a tiny minority. And God doesn’t make mistakes.

And he doesn’t have an unfinished project. So, I don’t want anybody to lose breath or worry about it,” he said.

The remarks appear to be a direct response to recent political jabs and public debates surrounding governance in Abia state.

A few days earlier, former Abia State governor and senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, had accused Governor Otti of being inactive, claiming that the current administration is only repainting and rehabilitating roads constructed during his tenure.

Kalu also announced his support for his new political platform, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he said he believes would perform better in delivering governance to the people.

Governor Otti, however, made it clear that he is not distracted by the criticisms, maintaining that his administration remains focused on its developmental agenda.

As the political atmosphere in Abia State continues to heat up, the governor’s message is firm — he remains unfazed, confident, and committed to delivering on his mandate, regardless of the noise from political opponents.

“I’m sure you all have been hearing noises for the past few days. Empty barrels make the loudest noise. Nobody should worry about things that are not worth our response; we have other important matters to attend to.”
