Banji Alabi Esq congratulates Nigerians on Christmas celebration, says Fear is the greatest enemy of man
FEAR is evil, it is a destroyer. Fear can kill dreams, vision, future, and destiny. Fear is hazardous; only those who conquer it escape its woes. However, experience has shown that 90% of our fears are baseless—they don’t happen.
On May 3, 1943, air raid sirens sounded over London. People rushed toward Bethnal Green Underground station, where more than 500 people had already taken refuge. Within ten minutes, 1500 more would join them. A woman carrying a baby lost her footing on one of the 19 steps leading down from the street. Like dominoes, people began falling on top of one another, resulting in the deaths of 173 individuals. Bombs did not kill them; fear did.
In Lagos, Nigeria, some years ago, there were multiple bomb explosions at Ikeja Military Cantonment. There were stampedes all over the place. In the end, 3000 people died. It is instructive to note that bombs didn’t kill any of them. Fear did.
Fear is the greatest enemy of man. Today, there’s a stampede of fear around us, and if we are not careful, we may get caught up in it. It’s okay to recognize the challenges around us, but God doesn’t want us to be overwhelmed by them. So, you need to monitor what you listen to, think, and say.
I can assure you that the current situation will give way to a bountiful harvest tomorrow. Hold on to your dreams. PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU—DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. BE BRAVE—fortunes favor the brave. Don’t allow yourself to be intimidated into making any decisions against your own destiny.
What is happening today is just a passing phase. You will bounce back to occupy your rightful position. Tell all the rumor mongers and the prophets of doom around you to take their miserable doctrines elsewhere. Though surrounded by fear and the fearful, you will have His peace in Jesus’ Name.
Go out with holy anger and courage: “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”
(2) SALUTE TO COURAGE Trusting God and Celebrating Life
Today, I want to share a powerful story that has inspired me and can inspire us all. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three Hebrew boys who stood firm in their faith, even in the face of adversity. When King Nebuchadnezzar threatened to throw them into the fiery furnace if they didn’t worship his idol, they responded with unwavering confidence: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand, O king. But even if he does not, we know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18)
These men didn’t just trust God; they celebrated their faith, even in the midst of danger. The Bible records that they were smiling and celebrating, despite being chained to the ground and awaiting execution.
Can you imagine the power of their faith? We can learn from their example.
When we trust God, we can live a life of celebration, no matter what circumstances we face. We don’t have to let fear, doubt, or anxiety control us. Instead, we can choose to trust God’s goodness, His love, and His sovereignty.
## Celebrating Life
Celebrating life doesn’t mean ignoring challenges or difficulties. It means choosing to focus on God’s presence, His power, and His promises. When we celebrate life, we acknowledge that every moment is a gift from God, and we can use it to glorify Him.
## Trusting God
Trusting God means believing in His goodness, even when we don’t understand His ways. It means having faith that He is working everything out for our good, even when things seem impossible. When we trust God, we can face challenges with confidence, knowing that He is with us.
## Conclusion
Let’s learn from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s example. Let’s trust God and celebrate life, no matter what we’re going through. Let’s choose to focus on God’s presence, His power, and His promises. When we do, we’ll experience a life of joy, peace, and celebration that will inspire others and bring glory to God.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
