The Senate was thrown into crisis on Thursday after a northern senator allegedly declared that “Nnamdi Kanu will die in prison and nothing will happen,” a comment that sent tensions flying high and triggered an immediate outburst from Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Witnesses say Abaribe shot to his feet in anger the moment the remark was made, lunging forward as he warned the lawmaker never to repeat such inflammatory words again.
