Nigeria Welcomes Its First Woman to Own Airline.

A new chapter in Nigeria’s aviation history is unfolding as Binani Air is set to commence commercial operations next Monday, with initial routes covering Anambra, Lagos, Kano, Maiduguri, and Port Harcourt.

The airline, which secured its Air Operating Certificate (AOC) in July 2024, is owned by Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) — the richest woman in Adamawa State and across the North-East. She is also the founder of the region’s largest printing press.

A Historic Milestone for Nigeria.

Binani Air becomes:
✅ The first airline in Nigeria owned by a woman.
✅ The first airline with both a female owner and a female CEO.

Its CEO, Aminatu Dahiru Chiroma, marks another groundbreaking achievement for gender representation in the aviation sector.

Just yesterday, one of Binani Air’s E170 aircraft completed a successful test flight, signaling full readiness for next week’s commercial debut.

This landmark moment sends a powerful message to every girl child in Nigeria — your dreams are valid, your ambitions matter, and the sky is truly the limit.
