Nigerian Navy Announces Recruitment for Basic Training School Batch 38
The Nigerian Navy has opened applications for its Basic Training School (BTS) Batch 38 recruitment, which will run from October 2 to October 31, 2025.
In a statement, the Navy stressed that the process is free of charge and applications must be submitted online via www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng. Successful candidates will undergo basic military training before being enlisted as Ordinary Seamen.
Eligibility is limited to Nigerian citizens by birth with a valid National Identification Number (NIN). Applicants must not have any criminal record or links to secret societies, cults, or fraternities.
Age and educational requirements include:
O’Level holders: 18–22 years (as of December 31, 2025).
OND/NCE holders: 18–26 years.
Chaplain/Imam Assistants and Drivers/Mechanics: 18–28 years.
Minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, obtained in not more than two sittings (not earlier than 2015).
Special categories such as Medical Assistants and Nurses must show proof of registration with relevant professional bodies, while technical trades like welding, plumbing, carpentry, tailoring, and electrical works require valid Trade Test certificates. Sportsmen and women are expected to provide certificates and medals as proof of achievements.
The recruitment examination will hold on November 29, 2025, across designated centers nationwide. Candidates must present their Attestation Form, valid ID (Driver’s License, International Passport, or National ID), and signed passport photographs of their guarantors.
The Navy warned that multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification and urged applicants to use only the official portal for inquiries and submissions.
