Singer Oluwadipe Oluwasanmi David better known by his stage name Spyro has left many of his female fans disappointed after revealing his engagement to Janet Atom.
The artist shared photos of his fiancée and snapshots from their engagement ceremony on Instagram. In the caption he wrote that his long-held prayer for a life partner was answered at an unexpected moment: March 30, 2024, at 2:48 a.m.
Spyro said he first met Janet while she was working at a club, and that meeting changed his life since then he says he’s been a very happy man. He confirmed she accepted his proposal and expressed excitement about their future together.
Reactions from followers were mixed. Some fans questioned how he found love in a club, while one woman complained that while “sisters are in church praying,” men are finding partners elsewhere. A few men joked they might try different places to look for romance too.
The engagement news follows a viral clip showing Spyro kissing a woman passionately in public, which drew criticism from people who felt the behaviour conflicted with his image as a self-described “Jesus boy.” The development also comes after reports of his earlier interest in reality star Nengi, during which he even joked about fasting over her.
