Cleric donates ₦50,000 each to 150 students in Kwara

In a heartwarming display of generosity, Pastor (Dr) Joseph Omorinoye, the General Overseer of the House of Prayer Assembly, Basilica, Ilorin, Kwara State this Sunday, 7th September 2025 has donated ₦50,000 each to 150 students during a special church service.

The beneficiaries, all students of various higher institutions of learning, were called out during the service to receive the cash gifts aimed at supporting their preparations for the upcoming academic session.

Addressing the congregation, Pastor Omorinoye stated that the gesture was meant to alleviate the financial pressure faced by students and their families as schools resume.

“We are giving out this stipend to support the students, as most of them are preparing for new academic sessions,” he said.
“Make sure you use the money for the purpose it was given. Manage it and spend wisely. Your parents are doing their best don’t disappoint them. Stay focused on your studies.”

One of the recipients, Godwin Oyeniyi, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the unexpected support.

“I am happy for the gift and I pray to God Almighty to bless Pastor Omorinoye for always taking care of us,” he said.

Similarly, another beneficiary, Fadekemi Adedara, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, described the donation as timely and miraculous.

> “I’m the happiest girl in town. It feels like a dream because I had been praying for support and it came miraculously. Baba always surprises us when we least expect it,” she said joyfully.

Pastor Omorinoye is widely celebrated in the Ilorin community for his consistent contributions to youth empowerment, humanitarian aid, and educational support.
