INEC reopens continuous voters registration portal nationwide

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the reopening of its Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) portal across Nigeria. The exercise will enable eligible citizens who have not yet registered, or those needing to update their details, to participate in upcoming elections.

According to INEC, the online pre-registration process, which resumed on Monday, August 18, 2025, will complement physical registration at designated centres nationwide. The commission urged Nigerians, especially first-time voters and youths, to take advantage of the opportunity to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

INEC reiterated its commitment to expanding voter access and enhancing transparency in the electoral process. The commission also assured that all data will be protected under its upgraded biometric system to prevent multiple registrations and fraud.
