Seyi Tinubu’s Aide Calls for The Sack of Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, Bwala and Minister of Information
Seyi Tinubu’s aide Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, known as @Abunaah on X (formerly Twitter), has publicly called for the sack of key members of President Bola Tinubu’s media and communications team, specifically naming Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and the Minister of Information.
In his statement, he emphasized the urgent need for a reshuffle within the administration’s media team to improve communication effectiveness.
Abubakar Kaka stressed that “the present strategy isn’t working,” pointing out that the current team is failing to adequately communicate President Tinubu’s policies and achievements. He lamented that despite many positive developments under the administration, these successes are not being effectively reported to the public.
He stated, “A reshuffle of our Media and Communications Team will go a long way at this point in our Administration. The present strategy isn’t working, they are not communicating Baba’s policies and gains effectively. A lot of positives happening but they aren’t reported effectively.”
This call comes amid ongoing changes within the administration’s communication arms, where Bayo Onanuga serves as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, and Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Policy Communication. These roles were part of an unusual structure where multiple advisers act as government spokespersons, a transition from previous administrations that typically had fewer spokespersons.
Abubakar’s critique highlights public dissatisfaction with the administration’s communication approach, advocating for personnel changes to better deliver the message of the government’s achievements to Nigerians. This call adds a new dimension to the discussions already present regarding the effectiveness of Tinubu’s media team in shaping public perception and delivering clear information on government initiatives.
