Kogi West Equity Forum Demands Senate Seat for Lokoja/Kogi in 2027, Endorses Zakari Abubakar Ola

Stakeholders from Kogi West Senatorial District, under the banner of the Kogi West Equity and Justice Forum, have called for adherence to the zoning arrangement within the district by advocating for the Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency to produce the next senator in 2027.

Meeting at Lisa Palm Hotel in Kabba, headquarters of the senatorial district, the non-partisan group stressed that it is time for political equity and justice, noting that the Lokoja/Kogi constituency last held the Senate seat over two decades ago through Senator Tunde Ogbeha.

In a communique issued after the meeting, the Forum stated its resolve to mobilize support for the emergence of a Lokoja/Kogi candidate and hinted at backing Alhaji Zakari Abubakar Ola, a young and dynamic figure, for the senatorial seat.

Forum leaders Chief Ikusemoro Enitan (Chairman) and Alhaji Yusuf Tijjani (Secretary) warned that any political party hoping to secure victory in Kogi West in 2027 must align with the zoning principle by ceding the senatorial ticket to the Lokoja/Kogi axis.

They asserted that with equitable zoning and the right candidate, particularly Zakari Abubakar Ola, victory at the polls would be a certainty.

KOGI WEST EQUITY AND JUSTICE FORUM ADVOCATES FOR LOKOJA/KOGI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY FOR SENATE 2027

Stakeholders in Kogi West Senatorial District, under the aegis of KOGI WEST EQUITY AND JUSTICE FORUM, a non-partisan group, have met in Kabba , the Headquarters of Kogi West Senatorial District to advocate for an all-inclusive political roadmap that will pave way for Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency to produce the next Senator of the district in the coming 2027 elections.

According to a Press Statement made available to our reporter in Kabba at the end of their meeting in LISA PALM Hotel, the Forum resolved to unite and mobilise Lokoja/Kogi people to ensure that the federal constituency produce the next Senator of Kogi West Senatorial District.

The meeting recalled that based on the existing rotation principle in Kogi West zone involving the three federal constituencies of Lokoja/Kogi, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu and Yagba, it is the turn of Lokoja/Kogi to produce the Senator in 2027. Already, the Forum is considering the candidature of a very young and vibrant personality in person of Alhaji Zakari Abubakar Ola for the exalted position.

“It is very disheartening that after Senator Tunde Ogbeha who occupied the seat from Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency over Twenty years ago, consideration has not been given to the federal constituency to produce a senator for the senatorial district” the statement added.

Without mincing words, the Forum has resolved that the next Senator should come from the Federal Constituency.

The Chairman and Secretary of the Forum, Chief Ikusemoro Enitan and Alhaji Yusuf Tijjani respectively has caution any political party that want to win election in Kogi State to consider zoning their Senatorial tickets to Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.

By zoning their Senatorial tickets to the federal constituency in 2027 and with the choice of Zakari Abubakar Ola as the candidate, the election will be won seamlessly.
