Man Dies While Trying To Steal Electric Cables In Rivers State

An unknown man was electrocuted in Ueken Community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, he lost his life while trying to steal electric cables belonging to the community.

Community sources told Ogoni Times on Sunday that the deceased, suspected to be a notorious cultist, has been in the habit of stealing and robbing people of their valuables including livestock.

A member of the youths’ vigilante group, name withheld told Ogoni Times that the “the incident occurred at about 2:00am, when the entire community people were already fast asleep”.

He narrated, “At the top of the pole, in the process of trying to be very fast in cutting off the cables, they eventually brought light and he was electrocuted and fell down with the collapsing wooden pole”
