House of Assembly Approves N299.8 Billion Supplementary Budget
The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary appropriation of N299.8 billion, significantly expanding the state’s 2025 budget.
The total budget now stands at N984 billion, up from the original N684.1 billion.
Sunkanmi Babalola, Chairman of the House Committee on Budget, Finance, and Appropriation, announced the approval to journalists after a plenary session on Thursday.
The supplementary budget, he explained, became a necessity to fund several critical expenditures not included in the initial 2025 budget passed last year.
“This supplementary budget addresses the reconstruction of Government House, pension payments for workers, and provisions for a new national minimum wage,” said Babalola, who represents the Egbeda State Constituency.
“The reality of our financial obligations this fiscal year demanded a reassessment. This new appropriation reflects the dynamic nature of governance and our need to respond to emerging priorities.”
