The Dangote Group has taken delivery of 4,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks as part of its nationwide fuel distribution strategy, a move aimed at supporting cleaner energy and enhancing logistics efficiency across Nigeria.

The announcement was made on the company’s official X platform on Saturday, accompanied by a video showing the arrival of the trucks, which are designated for the free distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel across the country.

The initiative is part of a broader commitment by the company to reduce logistics costs and ensure seamless access to refined products.

Posting a video of the newly received trucks, the company captured, “We are delighted to receive 4,000 brand-new CNG trucks as part of our bold distribution initiative, championing cleaner energy and more efficient transportation across Nigeria and beyond.”

The development comes just weeks ahead of the official rollout of Dangote Refinery’s nationwide distribution of refined products, which is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2025.

Tribune Online reports that the distribution is expected to cover PMS, diesel, and Jet A1, and is projected to deliver substantial economic relief, with annual national savings estimated at ₦1.7 trillion.
