Buhari’s burial date shifted

The burial of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been rescheduled from Monday to Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, made the disclosure on Monday while speaking to journalists.

According to the governor, “After consulting with his family and associates in London, it was agreed that the body will now arrive in Nigeria by 12 noon on Tuesday.”

He added that the former President will be buried later that day at 2:00 p.m. in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.

As previously reported by DAILY POST, Buhari’s body is currently en route from London, where he passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

In honour of his memory, the Katsina State government declared Monday a public holiday, allowing residents to observe a day of mourning. Additionally, President Bola Tinubu has declared seven days of national mourning to pay tribute to the late former leader.
