Uganda overtakes Ethiopia to become Africa’s largest coffee exporter.

Uganda had built Coffee processing factory called Inspire Africa Coffee factory project in Rwashamaire Town Council, Ntungamo District which was estimated to increase Uganda’s Coffee revenue from then $1 billion to $4 billion.

Uganda now earned $243 million from exporting 47,606 tons of coffee in May 2025, exceeding Ethiopia’s 43,481 tons for the same month.

Uganda also shipped 793,445 bags of coffee in May 2025.

In 2025, Uganda has earned $2.09 billion from coffee export.

From June 2024 to May 2025, Uganda exported 7.43 million bags of coffee to Europe, Asia and in Africa.

39% of the export goes to Italy, 67% to the whole of Europe, 18% to African countries. and 13% to Asia.
