Former Imo Governor Joins ADC, Directs his political movement to Support New Party

Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape. In a strategic move, Ihedioha also directed members of his political support group, the Rebuild Imo Movement (RIM), to align with and actively support the ADC.

The former governor’s defection comes amid growing dissatisfaction with the internal dynamics of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and signals his intent to reposition himself and his followers ahead of the 2027 general elections. Political analysts view this move as a bid to build a formidable opposition platform in Imo State and across the South-East region.
