‎9 Lagos Governorship Hopefuls In APC Emerge ahead of 2027.

‎A list of more potential Governorship hopefuls in the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged as the race for the 2027 general elections gathers momentum.

‎They are:

‎1. Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Hon Minister of Education.

‎2. Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, a Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

‎3. Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, Hon. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State.

‎4. Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman,
‎Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).

‎5. Mr. Seyi Tinubu, Son of the President.

‎6. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila

‎1. Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa,

‎Tunji Alausa CON (born 18 April 1965) is a Nigerian medical doctor specialising in nephrology and Minister of Education. He previously served as Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, with both appointments under the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He’s from Epe like Akinwunmi Ambode. A vibrant man full of experiences to work with. Could he be the chosen or elected ?

‎2. Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson,

‎Babajimi Adegoke Benson is a Nigerian politician and member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State. Benson was first elected into the Nigerian House of Representatives in 2015 to represent the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State. He was re-elected for a second term in 2019 and has since been re-elected for a third term during the 2023 Nigerian general election in Nigeria.

‎3. Mr. Tokunbo Wahab,

‎Mr. Tokunbo Philip Wahab, the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, is a highly accomplished and visionary legal practitioner with a proven track record. He was born on 17th May 1972 and is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, and the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton.

‎He graduated with a Bachelor of Law LLB from the University of Benin in 1998, attending the Nigerian Law School in 1999 before graduating in the Year 2000.

‎He had his primary education at Army Barracks Primary School, Epe, Lagos, between 1978 and 1984 before proceeding to the Army Children High School, Epe from 1984 till 1989 for his secondary education as well as a National Diploma in Mass Communication, which he obtained from the former Ogun State Polytechnic, now renamed Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, in 1993. Like Ambode, he’s also from Epe.

‎4. Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa,

‎Abike Kafayat Oluwatoyin Dabiri-Erewa OON (born 11 October 1962 is a Nigerian politician and former member of the Nigeria Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State. She was the Chairman of the House Committee on Media & Publicity. Shes also from Ikorodu like Hon. Babajimi Benson.

‎5. Seyi Tinubu,

‎Seyi Tinubu, born October 13, 1985, is a Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the eldest son of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, known for his work in media (Loatsad Promomedia) and youth empowerment through the Noella Foundation, which runs the Seyi Tinubu Empowerment Project (STEP) for skills, mentorship, and opportunities in Nigeria. Despite being the President’s son, he’s carved his niche in business, focusing on advertising and social initiatives, though he often faces scrutiny about leveraging his father’s influence, which he denies.

‎6. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila,

‎Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila CFR [1] (born 25 June 1962), is a Nigerian lawyer and politician,[2] who has served as Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria since 2023. He previously served as the 14th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from 2019 to 2023. A very vibrant man and experienced.

‎7. Akinwunmi Ambode,

‎Akinwunmi Ambode; born 14 June 1963) is a Nigerian politician who served as governor of Lagos State from 2015 to 2019. He was a civil servant for 27 years and a financial consultant before running for public office. He is from Epe, and very experienced, even as a former governor of the state.

‎8. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa,

‎Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa (born 11 November 1972) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served as speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly since March 2025. He previously served as speaker from June 2015 to January 2025. He is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress. He is currently having a party issue after being impeached by the 2/3 vote from the Lagos House of Assembly but was reinstated by the party. He is not a popular candidate, considering the grudges within his party supporters.

‎9. Adetokunbo Abiru

‎Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru FCA (born 25 March 1964) is a Nigerian banker and politician. He is the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District at the 9th Nigerian National Assembly. He became a senator after the passing of late Osinowo Sikiru Adebayo in 2020.

‎These are house-hold names when it comes to State and federal political atmosphere. Well known by the majority for their present or past contributions to the running of the state affairs or their philanthropic acts.
