77-year-old pastor sentenced to prison for multiple sex crimes against young boys

A Michigan pastor convicted of multiple sex crimes against young boys will spend at least 10 years in prison.

Pastor Michael Ronald Goble, 77, was sentenced to serve at least 10 years in prison.

Goble was convicted in December 2025 of three counts of criminal sexual conduct, at least one of which specifies that the victim was a person under 13.

Adrian police arrested Goble in July 2024. He was initially charged with eight counts of criminal sexual conduct in three separate cases.

Goble pleaded no contest to three of the eight counts; the other five were dropped at sentencing, according to court records.

Police said locations of significance in the investigation included the Maurice Spears Juvenile Campus, Church of the Good Shepherd and Goble’s home.

Additionally, authorities said Goble has an arrest warrant out of Louisiana for molestation of a child and will be extradited to face those charges.

A statement from the police department praised the victims who came forward to share their experiences.

“Coming forward to report sexual abuse is an act of profound bravery often taken at great personal cost,” the statement read. “You had the courage to confront your abuser and stand up for what is right. Thank you for your strength – your bravery is to be commended.”

Goble will be on the Michigan sex offender registry for life, which entails reporting and monitoring.
