Ashe, a prominent athlete who represented Nigeria at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, was apprehended in Alabama on Thursday, February 9, following accusations of multiple counts of theft and fraud reported by Columbus-based media outlet (WTVM)

According to the media report, Ashe has been charged with four counts of fraudulent use of debit/credit cards and two counts of third-degree theft of property.

The 21-year-old athlete, known for his remarkable performance at the Commonwealth Games where he secured a bronze medal in the 4×100m relay, had recently switched from the University of Tennessee to Auburn University in Alabama, where he competed in the NCAA.
