2027 Deadline Looms — Bola Ahmed Tinubu Told to “Wake Up or Lose 2027” by Ali Ndume

In a frank assessment of the current administration, Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South declared that President Tinubu has “less than five months” to deliver meaningful results if he hopes to retain popular support before the 2027 elections.

Resurgent insecurity: Recent spikes in insurgency, kidnappings, and banditry across multiple regions alarm Ndume, who says the government’s security strategy remains woefully under-equipped. He urges immediate reinforcement of military capacity, intelligence infrastructure, and air support.

Economic hardship and low welfare: Despite reforms announced by the presidency, many Nigerians still feel the sting of inflation and lost purchasing power. Ndume says economic relief and improved living standards must come quickly.

Perceived regional imbalance: The senator reiterated complaints over lopsided appointments under Tinubu’s government especially the underrepresentation of Northern Nigerians in key federal roles calling for fairer distribution of power.

Ndume also criticized the slow pace of implementation of the 2024 capital budget, pointing out that only about 30% has been executed. He argued this undermines confidence that the administration can deliver promised reforms.

He further stressed that unless the government brings in fresh, competent leadership individuals ready to act, not just maintain appearances Nigerians will not be satisfied, regardless of political manoeuvres or endorsements.

According to Ndume, the coming months represent a make-or-break window for the administration. If security does not improve and citizens continue to feel economic pressure, incumbency advantage could evaporate potentially undermining Tinubu’s re-election prospects.

Even loyalists, Ndume warns, may reconsider their support especially if reforms remain on paper and fail to reach everyday Nigerians.
