A 15-year-old girl identified as Amarachi has allegedly been rescued after being locked inside a toilet for months at the home where she worked as a maid in Abuloma, Rivers State.
She was reportedly rescued after neighbours heard her cries for help and alerted the police.
The teenager, who is from Ebonyi State, was reportedly confined as punishment and allegedly fed only once daily with leftover food before neighbours alerted the police.

The teenager, who hails from Ebonyi State, was reportedly living with Eze Simeon and his wife as a maid when she was allegedly punished by being locked inside a toilet after she was accused of committing an offence.
According to the account circulating online, Amarachi was allegedly subjected to severe neglect during the period and was reportedly fed only once a day with leftover food.
She was said to have raised an alarm on Monday, September 15, when the couple reportedly left the house. Neighbours who heard her cries for help were said to have contacted the Abuloma Police Division.
The police reportedly arrived at the residence and rescued the teenager.
